FAA airspace checker for drone pilots

About CanIFlyHere.us

CanIFlyHere.us is a free drone airspace planning tool that overlays publicly available Federal Aviation Administration geospatial data onto an interactive map. It was built to give recreational and commercial drone pilots a fast, readable answer to the most common pre-flight question: is this location safe and legal to fly in?

Why we built it

The FAA publishes detailed airspace data through its ArcGIS open data platform, but interpreting those layers usually requires GIS knowledge that most pilots do not have. Existing tools are often buried inside larger aviation apps, require account creation, or do not explain restrictions clearly in plain language. CanIFlyHere.us presents the same official public data in a simpler, faster interface.

Data sources

All airspace data is pulled in real time from the FAA's public ArcGIS feature services. No airspace data is stored or cached on our servers. The layers checked are:

What this tool does not cover

CanIFlyHere.us does not display temporary flight restrictions, which are issued dynamically and can change frequently. It also does not reflect local city or county ordinances, state park rules, or private property restrictions. For TFRs, use the FAA TFR map or the B4UFLY mobile app before every flight.

Accuracy and liability

This tool queries live FAA data and aims to reflect current conditions, but it is not an official FAA system and does not constitute flight authorization. Data may be delayed, incomplete, or contain errors. Pilots are solely responsible for ensuring their operations comply with all applicable regulations. See the Terms of Use for full details.
